The invention relates to the seedling growing technology, in particular to a seedling growing method. The seedling growing method solves the problem that an existing seedling growing method is not suitable for seedling growing of rare tree species and urban landscape tree species. The seedling growing method includes the following steps: (1) a cobble layer with the thickness being 35 cm is laid on the ground; (2) a plurality of parallel grooves with the width being 20 cm are dug in the cobble layer at equal intervals; (3) a steam pipeline is laid in each groove, and the steam pipelines are communicated with a steam boiler; (4) a cotton cloth layer is laid on the cobble layer; (5) a mixture layer with the thickness ranging from 2 cm to 4 cm is laid on the cotton cloth layer; (6) the steam boiler is started and outputs steam through the steam pipes and steam spraying nozzles respectively; (7) the mixture layer is cut into a plurality of blocks. The seedling growing method is suitable for seasonal seedling growing of the rare tree species and the urban landscape tree species, and is also suitable for anti-seasonal seedling growing of the rare tree species and the urban landscape tree species.
